Project Manager's Assistant
Ocean Construction Services is looking for a highly motivated and energetic Project Manager's Assistant. This person must be very organized and detail oriented, preferably with at least 3 years of PMA experience in General Contracting. A successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative and tactical support to the Project Managers.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Support Project Manager in contract management/ change orders both client and subcontractor
- Support Project Manager with client meeting - generate agendas and meeting minutes
- Support with the coordination and approval of product submittals and product with the purchase order system
- Follow thru that subcontractors are in compliance with insurance and other required information
- Attends weekly/quarterly management and safety meetings
- Prepares As-Built documents with coordination from the Project field staff
- This list in not all inclusive (Other duties as required)
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong background in construction knowledge
- Normal business hours (Hours may vary due to project needs) May have off hours or weekends needed- flexibility required
- Self-motivated and must have good communication skills
- Personal commitment to team environment, safety, client satisfaction and quality
- Works well in a team environment
- Ability to multi task several projects supporting several Project Managers
- Inter-personal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors and trade personnel.
- General construction documentation knowledge and regulation for supporting staff and subcontractor performance
- Punctual with reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Computer skills- Excel, Word, Google, ComputerEase
- High attention to detail- listening skills
- Periodically attend after hour business networking events

Superintendents / Quality Control Mangers
Ocean Construction Services is looking to employ experienced professional Superintendents / Quality Control Managers for Federal projects in the Norfolk/Washington DC/Metro area.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Manages the quality control staff and all specialty subcontractor inspection entities to ensure all disciplines are in compliance with applicable owner/architect and government specifications, codes, regulations and requirements.
- Ensures the quality standards established in the contract are met.
- Functions as the primary point of contact and liaison with the Owner (private or federal) for all quality control related issues.
- Implements and/or manages the keeping of all quality control records and ensures that required reporting is accomplished.
- Plans, schedules and coordinates (preparatory, initial and follow-up) to ensure that all required audits/inspections are performed and documented.
- Define corrective measures for problem areas.
- Reports results to the respective superintendent(s) in an expeditious manner and acts as catalyst for follow-up corrective actions and re-inspection when deficiencies are discovered.
- Assists Project Safety Coordinator to implement and aggressively enforce safety program and practices to create a safe and healthy work environment.
- Responsible for continuously expanding and updating professional knowledge and honing skills in order to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity.
- Performs additional assignments as directed by supervisors or as assumed through personal initiative.
- Employee audits during material receipt, fabrication and installation verifying company QC processes and procedures are followed, developing employee training and development of quality improvement initiatives as detailed in project plans and specifications.
REQUIREMENTS
- Required Minimum of 5 years past experience as a QC Representative/Superintendent on Federal Instillations- NAVFAC experienced preferred.
- Must be familiar with EM 385-1-1 and have experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance and sustainability.
- Must be able and willing pass a background check for work on Federal Instillations.
- Training/Education related to process system Quality Control
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and all necessary certifications for working on a government base
- Minimum of 5 years construction experience desired
- Superior knowledge of quality control program components, building codes and technical standards
- Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications.
- Complete understanding of safety practices and standards -EM385
- Capable of planning and coordinating the activities of others with excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential.
- Working knowledge of company's computer system and software applications preferred. MS OFFICE and Adobe.
